One of the most popular meets on the East Coast is back and this year's event will not disappoint.  We'll have great lifting and great fun in a local meet run under the quality of strict National standards.  Once you've lifted in a Baltimore Open, you'll have the experience to lift in a National meet.

Changes for 2019

You asked and we answered!  The Baltimore Open sells out very quickly and usually has a waiting list of over 70 athletes.  To accomodate more lifters, we've added a second platform on Satruday and Sunday, no Friday lifting but we’re opening the meet to 300 registrations with the extra platform!!

UPDATE: The meet is now capped at 170 lifters and will be held on one day, Saturday, January 26.  If the waiting list expands sufficiently, we will add the second day

MASTERS:  UnfortuntatelyThe National Masters Committee has voted to prohibit local competitons from serving as qualifiers for Masters Pan Am and the Masters World Championships.  Regrettably, they have thus prevented us us from offering you this service as we tradionally have.  However, we will have at least two National Judges for your sessions.  We recognize that for many masters the goal is to make totals under strict judging and this may suffice for your objectives.  So, we’re still offering you a national /international meet standard, which may meet your needs.

JUNIORS: Historically, the Baltimore Open has hosted no more than one - four Junior Division athletes.  Accordingly, we will not be awarding for this division.  Athletes 18-20 will enter ether Novice or Open Division as appropriate.

You'll find lots more helpful information below but if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Meet Director Mario Dispenza at mariodispenza@msn.com.  Thank you for joining us, we look forward to seeing you in January.

 With Best regards,

The OSS Weightlifting Club Board of Directors
