Of particular note regarding rules
SANCTION: USA Weightlifting and the Maryland-Potomac Valley LWC Sanction Number 09-20-245664
MASTERS: The Baltimore Open cannot be a qualifying meet for Masters Pan Am and the Masters World Championships. The USAW Masters Commttee has voted to preclude all local competitions from being qualifiers even with National/IWF officials. Therefore, regrettably, we are prohibited from providing this service. However, recognizing that for many masters the idea of hitting totals before National/IWF officials is self-satisfying and therefore we will have at least two National/IWF officials juding your lifting. You'll know you're hitting solid totals!
REFUND POLICY: Refunds for withdralws will be granted subject to the a replacement lifter on the waiting list. purchasing the withdrawing athlete's spot. No refunds will be granted after December 15, 2019
SPECTATORS: There will be a daily $10 entry fee for spectators age 13 and above to be collected at the door.
Athletes, coaches (Maximum two per athlete) and volunteers for the meet (loaders, announcers, referees, etc) will not be charged this fee but must sign up ahead of time. Each athlete will have the opportunity to name/change meet coaches at the registration desk if necessary.
ENTRY CAP AND WAIT LIST:
There is a 160-lifter cap. The schedule will fill up beginning with the first session at 8:00 a.m. on January 18. The schedule will generally progress lighter weight classes to heaviest alternating female and male sessions. Youth and Novice sessions will be separate and likely the middle of each day, respetively. However, all aspects of the schedule are subject to change pending final registration numbers. Once published the start list will remain current including all changes, with no changes to the published start list accepted after December 15.
