USA Weightlifting will be hosting our Women's Summer Camp at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA.
This camp is open to athletes ranging from beginner to advanced and Junior to Masters.
The camp will consist of six training sessions and additional events to be announced at a later date
There are 20 slots available for the full camp package and 10 slots for the training only package.
The full camp package will cost $1695 and includes room and board in a double room on campus at the Chula Vista OTC, transportation to and from the airport and training, recovery options, and a spot at the camp closing banquet. Single rooms will cost $1995.
The training only option will include access to training will cost $795 and will include access to the closing banquet, training, and meetings.
All participants will recieve a camp swag bag.
The cost of travel is not included and is the responsibility of the participant. Participants selecting the training only option will be responsible for lodging and transportation to and from the airport and their hotel. USA Weightlifting is not responsible for loss of travel expenses due to cancellation.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
These fees are necessary for administration and management by USA Weightlifting as there are many logistical steps that occur from the moment an athlete registers for a camp. We implement this cancellation fee for all camps.
Ursula Garza Papandrea, President of USA Weightlifting, Vice President of the International Weightlifting Federation and chair of the IWF Women's Commission. A world-level athlete herself, Papandrea was the first woman to achieve the ranking of Senior International Coach, USA Weightlifting's highest coaching certification.
Cheryl Haworth began weightlifting in 1996 at the age of 13 in Savannah, Ga. She is an 11-time consecutive national champion, american and world record holder. Haworth competed in three Olympic Games for the USA (2000, 2004, 2008) and earned a bronze medal in 2000 at The Games when she was 17. Cheryl is a Pan Am Games Champion, two-time Junior World Champion and holds the Youth World Record in the snatch of 125kgs, which remains unbroken 19 years later. She has several world championship medals and still holds the American record in the snatch as well as all Jr. American records. Cheryl officially retired from the sport in 2010 and began coaching full-time in Hong Kong where she lived for three years. Having recently moved back to The States, she spends most of her time in Virginia and Atlanta coaching her athletes remotely and hosting coaching clinics and seminars. Cheryl Haworth is co-host of The Official USAW Podcast with two-time Olympian Chad Vaughn and also does commentary for national USAW events.
